Elevated Ladies Unite will be having it's Annual Domestic Violence Awareness theatrical event entitled the Tragedy of Confused Love. The Tragedy of Confused Love Domestic Violence Awareness event will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM SHARP- 9:30 PM at 9 Centre Street; Hempstead New York 11550. The event will present groundbreaking one act plays from trained, skilled and gifted actors that will be depicting the stories of the victims who have endured the tragedies of domestic violence. This performance will tell the stories of untold victims and offer a glimpse into a rarely talked about subject with the hope decreasing the incidence of domestic violence. Come, see and hear a theatrical event that will leave you enlighten and educated on the tragedies of domestic violence.

Divas Uncorked: Wine Savvy, not Wine Snobby

Divas Uncorked®, Inc. is an African American women wine club that was founded by Stephanie Browne. Divas Uncorked stands on its motto "Wine Savvy, not wine Snobby"; behind that motto is about women who dare to be educated on the many different types of wine, how wine can be used with the right delights, how its processed, the ingredients and the vineyard that grew the grapes.

This is what the Founder Stephanie Browne had in mind when she founded the organization Divas Uncorked. Stephanie felt that it was a need for women and minority women in particular to be savvy on the makings of the wine and the type of wine that's being sipped on by the individual. Stephanie's interest in learning about wine came about when she went out to dinner with friends whom she worked with, at these dinner's she would always order white, red  and at times the house wine. The idea sparked to Stephanie after a waiter at the restaurant asked what variety of wine she wanted and she was surprised that more varieties existed other than Chardonnay. Though she wasn't knowledgeable of the different distinctions she indulged, she began to educate herself and decided to form the club Divas Uncorked®, Inc.

Divas Uncorked® has hosted many international and domestic events to educate, entertain and sip. The club has also started a program to sponsor wine education dinners called Diva Dine where fifty to seventy-five women gather for an evening of wine education and fun. Divas Uncorked® has their own wine label entitled Divas Uncorked Chardonnay. 

 Divas Uncorked® was featured in Exhale Magazine of Boston (2012); Martha Vineyard Wine and Food Festival (Aug 2007); New Hampshire Chronicles (March 2007);  NBC Weekend Today Show (Sept. 2006); Boomers TV on PBS(Sept. 2005). Divas Uncorked and the Founder Stephanie Browne is featured in a book entitled Women of Vine written by Deborah Brenner.

Behind that smile there is a woman who have faced the loss of a love one and just cannot move forward in life because she is holding on to the pain of loosing that "love one".

Behind that smile there is a woman who has been battered by the hands of man although she managed to escape that tumultuous relationship she is constantly waking up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. The internal scars she is suffering from isn't making it hard for her to move forward in life, she is holding back because she feels less than a woman, she doesn't feel at peace. 

Behind that smile there is a woman who is in distress because she has never felt the fatherly love, a love that a daddy can give to his princess, with the neglect of a father love she doesn't know how to spot a great man for her  to compliment the ROSE she is, so she settles for a Grinch who stole her "Crown" a crown that represents her value, the crown that represents her self love and respect. She is lost because of that lack of a fatherly love, because that father neglected to show her the princess she is so she is lacking the growth into being molded into a Queen she ought to be. 

Behind that smile there is a woman looking for a way out of the strip club but she is stuck because she sees the fast money that is abundantly being tossed at her, she wants to find a way out but she doesn't know where to start. After the night is over she goes home to get the remainder of a nights rest, she is tossing and turning reflecting on the lack of respect she gets from the strip club, from the men that touches her treasures, the derogatory names she gets called, then she finally wakes up from a nightmare of her becoming the Jane Doe of another stripper who gets killed and raped from a stranger who lurked the club.

Behind that smile there is a woman looking to find her way in the world but she fears success, she is lacking confidence and courage in HER-self so she steps back goes for a job that doesn't compliment her talents or gifts because its less challenging. What she doesn't realize is she is making HER-self miserable by working dead end jobs because she lacks faith in HER-self.

Elevate HER

Elevate HER (Help, Empower Roses) is a program that Elevated Ladies Unite company came up with a platform to help the women out who fall between the lines low income to no income. Elevate HER will provide free workshops to those ladies that fall below the income bracket as well as provide business professional attire that was donated by the people. There is a woman out there that is looking to be blossomed into the rose she is. 

Elevated ladies Unite accepts donations through tangible items like clothes preferably professional attire which the lady can wear for her job interview and networking events. This will allow her to be surrounded by business professionals. There is this old saying that birds of a feather flock together and perception is everything, although clothes do not make the person think about it when you have to go out for that interview or you have to pitch that idea to a company. When you step into a place of business the first thing an interviewer looks at is your outer appearance. Elevated Ladies Unite wants give those women a chance to wear not just presentable clothing but a piece of garment that was given by donors who cares. 

Volunteers

Elevated Ladies Unite is looking for licensed hairstylist volunteers as well as students who are currently enrolled in a cosmetology/beauty institution that are willing to be of service to the women who cannot afford to look elevating.

Elevated Ladies Unite Women Executive Leadership Series is set to educate, inspire and elevate the business professional women who are looking to be empowered and leave with something that they would like to add on to their business plan for their future success.
